CBWNet Coordinator Alexander Kelle was interviewed for EUNPDC E-Newsletter

CBWNet coordinator Alexander Kelle was interviewed for the November 2023 issue of the EUNPDC e-newsletter on new security challenges from scientific advancements. He addressed chemical agents that fall outside of the traditional scope of military agents—such as chlorine and other toxic industrial chemicals, fentanyl and other incapacitants and opioids, and Novichoks. He also discussed mechanisms that could be developed to ensure that States Parties to the CWC, such as Syria and Russia, do not develop and use such weapons. Last, but not least, the interview focussed on the specific role the European Union could play in consolidating the chemical weapons prohibition regime.

The newsletter will be released soon and made available here.
