CBWNet analysis on allegations of chemical weapons use in the Ukraine war

In the course of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, Russia has repeatedly accused Kiev of planning chemical weapons operations as "false flag" operations in order to then be able to assign responsibility to Moscow for such an operation, which is contrary to international law.

Ukraine consistently and persistently rejects all corresponding Russian accusations. Verifiable evidence for the respective accusations has not been publicly available so far. Neither party has yet activated international mechanisms to have the accusations independently investigated.

CBWNet's latest analysis categorizes these allegations and shows that a response by the international community under the Chemical Weapons Convention would be necessary for strengthening the norm against chemical weapons.
